Q. How does a laser printing machine work?
A.A laser printer makes images on paper using lasers along with electrostatic methods. The printer gets a digital image and changes it into an electrical signal that starts a laser beam. The beam hits a spinning drum covered with photosensitive material, creating an electrostatic image by altering charges in certain spots. Toner, a fine powder, sticks to the negatively charged parts of the drum forming the needed picture. When paper moves through, it gains a negative charge that pulls toner from the drum to transfer the image onto it. A fuser unit then uses heat plus pressure to bond toner permanently to paper, resulting in very clear printed documents.
