The lighter material in the upper strata flows down the inclined vibrating deck whereas heavier material such as stones, glass and metal travel uphill and out. The product flows downhill at the discharge end of the deck. The bottom portion of the bed consists of gravity pure, finished product that often needs no further refinement.
